Aquameta Filter Intake Guard for Fluval Canister Filter 106/107/206/207.

Tired of cleaning pre-filter sponges multiple times a week? The filter intake guards not only prevent small aquarium fish, shrimp, and other small inhabitants from getting suctioned into the filter, but also reduces the amount of cleaning required. These guards provide an OEM style snug fit onto the original intake tube of the Fluval canister filters.

There are two styles available, the Full Guard and the Half Guard. The Full Guard fully replaces the OEM strainer. This style does not contain a checkball and not compatible with installing a checkball. The Half Guard attaches to the OEM strainer's top half checkball attachment. The Half Guard allows the original checkball to be used. The purpose of the checkball is to prevent back flow when the filter is powered off and also to assist with priming the filter for the first time. As there are many methods of priming a filter, the Full Guard can be installed without any operating challenges.

Both style of guards features mesh opening holes of 1.5mm.

Remarks:
These guards are not intended to be installed Fluval Aquarium Kits such as but not limited to Fluval Shaker, Fluval Roma, Fluval Siena, etc. The fittings are different in sizes and are not compatible. The intake guards are designed for the standalone canister filters.

The original strainer, the checkball, the checkball attachment, and the intake stem are not included.
